Dr. Heather Rassel, D.C. took up chiropractic as a career, and started her education in 1994. However, it was more of a “way of life” since she was raised by chiropractic parents, Drs. Ed and Linda Rassel. Dr. Heather’s two older sisters, her aunt, several uncles, cousins, and her niece are all chiropractors as well. Counting all the extended family members (through marriage too) there are about 30 chiropractors in Dr. Rassel’s family!

Dr. Heather grew up in Haslett, MI and was an extremely active kid who loved to be a part of many different groups, including various sports and the arts, especially soccer and vocal music. She attended Michigan State University, 6 miles down the road, then moved to Marietta, GA to get her chiropractic degree from Life University. Dr. Rassel graduated in 2000, also starting her family that same year, with the birth of her first son Jackson.

In 2004 Dr. Rassel moved back to Michigan and helped open and operate Van Skyhock Family Chiropractic in Traverse City, and then a second location in Mesick, MI in 2007 (currently with different owners). At the end of 2011, she focused her energy on starting a very different type of practice, “Pure Chiropractic ~ A Membership Practice” in the Grand Traverse Mall. This practice exemplifies her personal mission; “to provide convenient and affordable chiropractic care to all who want it!”

Dr. Rassel enjoys an active lifestyle outside of her practice with her husband, Scott Lankford. Family is also a BIG part of her life as well, raising their blended family of 6 super unique, awesome children! She also enjoys downtown festivities in Traverse City, spending time with girlfriends, yoga, golf, traveling, and relaxing on Lake Michigan beaches.
